CONSTRUCTION
NSAR Assured
The Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) is a card based scheme to prove the skill and competency of plant operators across the UK. As the largest and most significantly recognised card scheme for the plant industry, it helps to prove the holder’s operating skills as well as his or her health and safety awareness.
Location
Our training courses are carried out either on a 1-2-1 basis or in small groups so that you receive plenty of individual attention, supplemented by course materials that reflect current safe working practices. Our courses can also be offered as a package course which consists of a combination of 2 categories. DOTTS offer a route to booking a test with an Accredited CPCS test Centre. To qualify for the CPCS scheme, candidates must hold CITB Health & Safety Certification, prior to commencing any CPCS training or assessment.
The CPCS training scheme predominantly consists of two elements, the theoretical and the practical assessment.
CPCS Theory Test
The CPCS Theory test covers health and safety, maintenance and operation knowledge about the machine. You will have to pass the theory test before you can move on to the practical test. The test consists of a verbal recording, with a maximum time allowance of 1 Hour. The number of questions asked may vary depending on the type of machine you are being assessed on. The mark required to pass is 80%.
*Please note: 2 hours will be allocated for those candidates requiring an interpreter for the test*
CPCS Practical Test
The CPCS Practical Test involves maintenance checks and normal site operations for the chosen machine. When you have completed both the theory and practical tests you will get the CPCS (Red) Trained Operator Card.
The time allowed for the practical assessment is also dependant on the type of machine plant you are being assessed on. The CPCS Practical Test can be carried out at our registered CPCS Training Centres or Off Centre.
*Please note: only certain types of machines are deemed as “Off Centre” – Call 07463 696956 for more details*
Do I Qualify For The CPCS Assessment?
