Course Description
The Assessor shall observe the COSS implementing a Safe System of Work in a real environment. The assessor must not form the group. The assessor shall ask questions to check knowledge and all documentation shall be checked.
Who its for
The COSS Assessment is for any individual who requires a Post Mentorship Assessment or an Interim Assessment Assessment.
Prerequisites
Valid PTS
A post mentorship assessment is required within the first 4 months of passing the COSS initial course.
An Interim competence assessment is required between 9-15 months following the first 24 months of competence.
The candidate must have at least four entries in their work experience book prior to the post mentorship/interim assessment. For post mentorship assessments a mentor must be made available.
Changes have been mandated by Network Rail from 5th September to prevent manufactured COSS assessments, DOTTS shall only undertake COSS assessments that comply with the Network Rail and NSAR rules.
